PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Welcome to Mixter Institute for Transition!  My name is Robyn Castle, and I am the principal. I come to Mixter with a vast background of working with students at the transition age. I was a teacher in a transition program for 7 years, and the principal of a transition program in another county, prior to joining the Lincoln Park team. I am so proud of the work done by all of the students and staff at Mixter, and I am so lucky to be a part of the Mixter team.

At Mixter, we offer a post-high school program for young adults with autism, that reside in one of 17 districts in the Downriver/Dearborn communities. We, at the Mixter Institute for Transition, have a rich history of preparing students for the work force and to live as independent adults.  We meet the needs of students on an individual basis, and work closely with students/families to achieve personal goals related to student transition plans. Our students have the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of experiences such as, woodworking, gardening, cashiering and stocking.

Our students are also employed at various job sites throughout the downriver area.  In addition, we run a wonderful resale shop that is located at Mixter, and is open to the public. Please feel free to drop off your donations during our operating hours 9:00am -11:00am, and 12:00pm - 2:00pm (Monday through Friday), or to stop in and find a treasure.

Please feel free to contact our main office with any questions at 313-389-0220 or contact me directly at [email protected].
